EB-4: Special Immigrants
The fourth preference of the EB-based immigration categories brings “special” immigrants to the United States. There are several types of foreign nationals that fall into this category. Still, in most cases, it applies to current or former U.S. officials (including government officials, military, diplomats, and foreign service collaborators).
Certain religious, medical, and media authorities may also qualify. An EB-4 application usually requires a petition filed by an employer. However, there are certain situations where the applicant may be the petitioner himself.
